Kassel has a unique charm, and this hotel gives a decent base for exploring the area, albeit with some caveats. I stayed in a large suite, which was a nice surprise-spacious with three balconies, and the flat-screen TV offered some comfort after a long day. The room's cleanliness left much to be desired, with dust lingering under the bed and a pervasive mildew smell. While there's a convenient 12-minute walk to the heart of Kassel, I felt the hotel missed the mark on a few luxury aspects. The lack of air conditioning and safe adds points against comfort. On the upside, the breakfast area is bright and spacious, serving a traditional German buffet that sets you up well for adventures-though be wary of timing, as availability is limited. Ultimately, this hotel balances value and amenities reasonably well for its location, but it's not quite five-star. For the price, being aware of these shortcomings can help set expectations straight.
